Tis the time for camping!
Opened ours up, and going through the 'need-to-list'.
New controller on the tv, soon to be new tires on the rig.
Had a problem with the furnace, it was the lock-out switch under the sink/counter. Easy fix.
Yup, had mine out Friday, did an adjustment to the brakes and put it on the scales to make sure I was still ok. Still getting just a bit cold so in a another week or so I will de-winterize and then I will run everything to make sure it is operational.
First trip is the 15th of April, just local, shake down trip.
Already been out! Now getting ready for a Week at Texas Motor Speedway for the NASCAR races. Leaving April 2nd and will not be back till April 11th. Thats a long time to boondock, but you gotta do what you wanna do!
"Chlorinate the Water Tank" is usually one of the first things I do to get ready for camping. I have always used the "rule of thumb" of 1/2 cup of household bleach per hundred gallons. Let it set for about 3 hours but make sure I pump it thru all faucets for about 2 minutes. Drain, refill wait a bit, circulate thru the faucets, then drain.
If other people has a different way, I would like to hear it!
Spring is here because I'm are getting hitch itch , it's getting time to get ready to move the rig from Florida to our homebase for a few months before we hit the road again in July.
I'm thinking our first trip will be in April, big stuff going on at work right now. It'll give me a little more time to go over things on the TT. I am putting new jacks on it this year to get rid of those glorified aluminum jack stands that came with it. Also want to swap the bathroom fan to a larger slower unit and put maxx airs on it. other than that it's just check it out front to back and play jack the tandem to go over the bearings and brakes... Yes the itch is definately here...
we opened ours up a couple weeks ago and started the "time to empty her out" cleaning. I finished "emptying the 5er out" last weekend in preperation for the delivery of our new Heartland Greystone 33ck that we ordered. We are set for our first weekend May 6 and cant wait.
Some luckey people here, it's still only 20-30*F here and still got some snow here and there on the ground. But it's supose to warm up alot next week. Thank god, i'm getting sick of the cold!
Holy Crap!
I guess I spoke too soon!. Oh well, I suppose I'll spend my time in the shop this weekend...
I made this for my grandaughter...
Me,
And for the Holidays...

After checking all the lights, making sure the stove, furnace and fridge are working the tank is next.
I'm a bit overly cautious when it come to this procedure. I will pour between 1/2 to 3/4 cup of bleach into a gallon milk jug, then top it off with water. I pour that into the tank and then fill the tank, in my case 40 gallons.
Let it sit for 15-20 minutes or 2 beers, whichever comes first. Open all the fixtures and flush until the there is no more pink stuff flowing and the camper smells like bleach. Then I'll let it sit for at least 6 hours. Last year I actually left it in there overnight.
Flush some more through the lines, drain what's left (usually about 1/2 the tank since I like to get a decent amount into the black and gray tanks too), refill with just water and flush until there is no more bleach smell. One refill is all it has taken so far and we haven't had any issues.

I was ready to start toying with the camper last weekend when it was 60 but we got a dusting Wednesday and it's been in the mid 30's here since. I'm ready to get going though!

Dave,
I folded in the purchase of this one, for three reasons.
1. Price
2. Sold the last one,
3. She likes A/C. (I personally can do with out it, but...)
