Today I found this...

Doing repairs on a starter connection, I happened on this. I broke out in a cold sweat, knowing all the times I had my family (granddaughters, etc,) and jumping RxR tracks just to make it bounce, and generally getting onery with her. Parts wont be in for three/four days due to the holidays, so, she sits.

The driver's side is cracked also, but not as bad. They will both be replaced.

Next couple of RR tracks might have been a big surprize! Wow, lucky you noticed. I don't recognize the exhaust collector right next to the crack in picture 1...is that stock and ahead of the cat? Just curious.

that is why a regular inspection once or twice a year under your vehicle is a good idea.

I don't know if it was a factor or not, but the bushings look to be incorrectly installed. That looks like the white plactic spacer on the face of the bracket. It should be on the back side.

Once the parts come in, I will check the assembly per the drawings. The exhaust team up into this collector/resonator, then go into the cat, and then to the '33 gallon muffler.' (Next mod, for certain.) I'm just wondering how much grief this fix will be. I will def pre-soak the connections. (I'm working on the street, in the city, no access to a shop...)

Got the part replaced, haven't posted the pics yet. (And yeah, it was a brat to do...) Took grandaughter to the fireworks show, and now I'm bed-ready. I'll be back here tomorrow. With pics.

That sucks about your truck. I'm glad you noticed it before something bad happened.

You should replace those radius arm bushings with poly ones.

That collector you are talking about is also a cat.
