I upgraded my 71 F250's taillights and front markers with LED's. All the bulbs are 1157 style bulbs. My problem is...with the headlights off, all the flashers work fine. Its when I turn the headlights on and try to use the turn signals and brakes the lights just go out. Me and my dad have been trying to figure this out. Can anyone help please???
I used a "load resistor" on my 07 Ranger front marker lights to stop the fast blink. Those might work for you.
You also have to remember that LED's have to go in the correct way. Power is one way with LED's as oposed to regular bulbs that can get power from either dirrection.
I do realize you really can't put the 1157 in backwards.
I have replaced the flashers with electronic ones. So they flash the same speed regardless of the load. I still dont have brake lights or turn signals when the headlights are on. Could it be a common grounding problem?
