Hey guys,
I'm new here. I have been lurking around all the forums getting all kinds of great help for my new to me 02 F350 7.3 4x4 I picked up this month. So, I've been going through picking up parts and doing all the maintenance stuff so I know what's what with the service intervals, etc. I'm really happy with this truck so far. I can't wait to make some money and memories with it.

Anyway, I have the Ford service manual for the truck and have a question. I have a new Ford center carrier bearing I need to put in. The manual only covers removing the whole drive shaft, not just the center bearing. It also says to replace ALL the bolts and ujoint straps when you remove the drive shaft, which I don't have a problem doing if I have to (do I have to?), but since it's not quite ready for ujoints, I'd rather not take apart more than I have to, to replace the center bearing.

The real question for me is, what minimum do I have to remove to get the center bearing out so I don't have to buy and replace the bolt hardware yet?

Jason

Clay at Riffraff says TIMKEN is likely the OEM version.
