Stacks in this part of Florida is common, I have seen duals and singles, stick with duals, they look better, and chrome them up! Or better yet like one guy did, wrap them with you favoret beer cans! Not sure how long the thin beer can will last wrapped around the stack pipe, but was cool looking.
no stacks... tuck them up in the frame rails and run then out the side of the bed behind (or infront of) the rear wheels.
This is how my exhaust is currently run. I'm yanking off my cats though and since I'm going to have to redo my exhaust, I'm just thinking more for the future.

To glove: I'm skipping a snorkel and will eventually run an in cab intake. My project vehicles are kind of shifting and it's more likely than not that my D60 and 10.25 or a 14 bolt will end up on this truck.
To Dorsai: All I can say is no one is going to mistake my truck for theirs.
In the end, I just want my truck to function well for it's intended purpose.
Whenever I see a pickup with stacks I always laugh and think, "There's a guy who is trying to compensate for something".
Yep I can generally guess the stature of the individual. Usually a bunch of kcs, cb, mud flaps, huge lift, not a single scratch in the paint. Locally a guy has a huge f350 stacks and basically just as I said. Stands about 5'5 lol.
I think stacks are cool, provided they are a reasonable diameter. Some I've seen are more like piping your exhaust through a metal trash can than an actual pipe.
I'm kind of partial to a straight cut or slash type myself. Gives a cooler old-school look.
Thanks for the comments thus far guys. I had a buddy suggest I run a little bigger tubing, it's 2.5" in the pic and he thinks I should use 3". I'm not sure I agree. Any input on this?
Stick with smaller tubing for a gasoline engine. Too big and it sounds funny, and you lose exhaust velocity/torque.
Plus really big stacks just make you look like a poseur.

Thanks for backing up my concerns with going with a larger diameter tubing.
I say go with the stacks, and I only say that because of their functionality. Personally, I think they look terrible, but if I was building a mud truck, you can bet your @$$ it'd have stacks.
i really like stacks on a big truck, as long as they arent 6 inches wide, i think they look really awesome on your truck. You really should do it. you got me wanting to put stacks on my truck now, who cares what other people say, its your truck.
