Won’t perform diagnostic test, replaced brake switch’s, voltage showed 0.6 volts, fuses are good. Can’t find a recall on it. It’s a V10 2004 . Please help
Problem solved! Thanks for all the help. As stated above the diagnostics said the cruise control servo was the problem. I removed it and took off the top which is where all the electronics are located and what the plug, plugs into. The gears were frozen up. On a U Tube video I found that the cruise control servo is identical for almost all Ford vehicles from 1997-2003. This is important information because a servo motor for a Ford truck is about $450 but for Ford cars you can find them for $50 and they are identical except the mounting bracket. However, you can remove the mounting bracket from your truck servo and it will go right on the new car servo. I was able to find the bottom part with the gears for $39 delivered on eBay. It was a brand new part. I reused the top part, put it back together and now the cruise control works great! . This is the eBay link where I found the motor. "FORD OEM Cruise Control Motor 535-9537". The bracket from your old servo motor will screw right into this motor.
Having issues with my cruise as well. 02 F250. Getting a new head unit next week so bought an 06 Lariat steering column and used the wheel and clockspring so I can have audio controls. Now the cruise doesn’t work. Horn works and no airbag light. Tried self test snd get an initial flash but nothing after that. Bad clockspring? Maybe the buttons aren’t communicating with the module? Buttons just don’t work? Open to suggestions.
I lost CC and trailer brakes. Is this more likely to be the switch on the MC as that controls CC and seems like it power the brake controller.
2000 F250 6.8L.
To those having CC issues. Here is what happened on mine. Went thru all the diagnostics and never got a good reading. I finally found the in-line fuse link just below the Master cylinder cutoff switch had a bad fuse in it. When I did it I got the 2 amp fuse put it in and immediately it blew again. So I tried a 3 amp. That blew too. Only thing I had left was a 5 amp and put it in. Presto it worked. No problems since. I think the servo motor was stuck and when I allowed more amps to make it to it. It freed up and is working again. I know there is going to be nay-sayers about putting a 5 amp in for the 2 amp but all I know is that it worked. I should get another 2 amp and replace it but just never have yet. Most auto parts stores do not carry that small of a fuse. Hope this helps someone. I was pulling my hair out!
This was why my CC didn't work. Easy fix. For you others, don't just blow by this step. 2 flashes after button diagnosis, this is it.
Mine has a short circuit and blows the 10amp fuse as soon as the switch is turned on, Does anyone know where to find a wiring diagram for a 2002 F250 super duty 5.4
