Hey guys, I'm installing my new ip and I'm wonering how tight the 3 mounting bolts need to be? I couldn't get to the pass. Bottom bolt with my wrenches so I tapped the bolt tight with a long screw driver and hammer. It seems tight but how tight does it need to be so it won't leak? Thanks, I'll post pics later.
Strapon, if you have a grinder, grind down the box end of a box end combo wrench and then snip off the open end with a cutoff. You will have no prob getting to them with this, and you'll need it again.

wreck not sure if you know lol but you called him strapon.... I had to read a few times just to make sure thats what it said
I ground down a old 9/16 wrench I had but when I tightened it one of the forks bent. I think I'll try grinding one of my combos like you said though, hopefully that will work. Wreck, did you have any leaks after the swap?
The seal happens at the oring but if it's not held tight it will cause larger problems than a leak. Things like a dead pump real fast. No I don't get leaks there but I crank mine really tight. The combo will work and stay strong mine is like 1/8" thick
Oh boy, ok. I'll have to make one of those and try to crank it tight. You totally grind off the open ended side and grind off 1/2 of the closed end side?
No you grind down the box end side so it is thinner. Leave it boxed, just thin it. Yes to cutting off the open end side. There is a perfect vid on YouTube but it's passenger side to advance and drivers side to retard it. Start with the line on the pump lined up with the top line of the housing. Then you will want to go approx a dimes width to the passenger side.
when I adjusted my timing, I took the high idle solenoid off to get to the one bolt, and cut the end off one of my cheap wrenches and welded it back on at an angle. All the other bolts I was able to use a regular wrench on...
