On my 2011 250 XLT - I got a pretty decent "rattle" behind dash - I think it is high up either center or more on the passenger side.
Last Weekend I took the little panel off the right end of the dash, emptied the glove box & released it so I could access the pass side. Couldn't find anything.
So then I removed the center part of the dash where the upfitters, radio, AC is and really couldn't get to much.
I was scared to mess with the big panel in front of the airbag (Pass) - Does anyone know how it removes & can I do it without messing with the airbag?
OR better how do you pull the top of the dash?
Yes, I know that I could take it back under warranty - but I think I can find & fix. The rattle comes when you are on rough roads, ranch roads - don't hear it on the smoother highways.. It can be aggravating..
I know this video is for the install of a lockpick on the F150 but it might give you some clues on how that dash comes apart which may help you with your's.
Kudos to you for attempting this fix. I to have this rattle as do others on this board. I've been waiting for someone to tackle the issue so they can report back. I don't the ***** to attempt it myself. Truck is to new to be taking things apart lol.
I dropped a 1" bolt down the defroster vent and heard it fall all the way down. I am subscribing to this thread in hopes of learning how to get in behind the dash and or to the heater fan motor. No rattles, yet.
