Locking fuel cap

With diesel reaching $4 a gallon the thieves will be back with their siphon hose and 5 gal. can.

I was looking for a locking cap. I found this part number:

YU5Z9030AB

but I can't be sure if this one fits the 6.7l diesel. Everything talks about gas.

Do any of you have a locking fuel cap and is it this one?

TIA.

I've wished from day 2 that the fuel door had a lock on it. That's because when I drove it to work the day after I bot it, three people out in the parking lot opened the fuel door to see how the DEF tank fill looked. Geez, I would never think of touchin someone's brand new rig without their okie dokie. Anyway, made me wish there was a lock on there to keep out the honest vandals who feel the need to sabatoge. I kno it's an ugly subject, but, we've all thot of it, I'm sure. Heck even my 1990 Ford Festiva has a lock on the fuel door.

37.5 x $5.00 = $187.50 to fill up. That little statistic will bring out the low lifes with their hoses.

I'd rather have the fuel siphoned than have a hole punched in the fuel tank. One way or the other the jerkwads are going to get what they want. The trick is either foil them completely or try to minimize the damage they cause.

Locking fuel cap for 2011 6.7 diesel

RockAuto Parts Catalog Google search indicates this is for a 2011 6.7 diesel.

for some reason the link isn't going directly to the part. But if you search on the site for the Ford/F-250/fuel-air/gas cap, it will show a couple options including the locking fuel cap.

$5 diesel is just days away in my part of the country. I installed a billet locking fuel door that should keep the lazy thiefs at bay. If they want to work at it, there is no stopping them.

I installed locking fuel caps on my truck not really to stop someone stealing fuel but rather to prevent someone (angry woman) from pouring sugar or something else in my tank.

Rock Auto NOT an Option

Hi Guys;

I duplicated this on another thread, but thought is was prudent here also as the Rock Auto part is listed here too.....

I have dealt with Rock Auto many times, their parts are top quality as is their service and price. I went to their site and ordered the locking fuel cap (Motorcraft # FC1004) for $33.xx + $5 shipping. The cap arrived in CA from Arkansas in 3 days!

Regrettably, it's not the correct fit! It is a gasser cap. They were very sorry for the error and issued me a prepaid FedEx return label, so my liability is simply dropping it by the FedEx store.

So the deal is that they DO NOT have a locking cap for the 6.7 at this time. I was told they would make corrections to their site to reflect only the standard, non-locking caps available for the 6.7. However, I'm still looking for a locking cap instead of a door replacement...... Anyone else have any luck??

Regards,

Tom

I couldn't find one anywhere so I went ahead and ordered the AMI 6058 in chrome and locking fuel door.
