I looked at some 2011 F150's yesterday and the salesman pointed out a 115v outlet in the center console. The truck was a Lariat. I haven't seen Ford promoting this feature at all and was wondering what trim level or package it comes with. There was an XLT on the lot that didn't look like it had the outlet.
It's standard on the Platinum, Lariat Limited, King Ranch and Harley. Optional on the FX's and regular Lariats.
While it's a nice add on, it's not the sort of thing Ford marketing thinks F150 buyers really care about. Their money is better spent focusing on selling HP/TQ or Tow Capacity or MPG. But that's just my opinion.
I've not looked it up yet and will one of these days, but how many watts is the outlet good for?
I think your right Joe,most anything that doesnt draw alot of current should be fine.Try plugging in a circular saw or Hammer drill, and its a different story!...:-)
