This is the first time I am seeing your thread build. Looks AMAZING!!! The x-member is impeccable and those motor mount supports you fabbed up look stout. Most of all I have to give you credit. I went from a straight frame to an IFS, you Cut out a Volare prepped your frame and then went MII. Mad skills congrats.
Will you be doing the same Column set up as in your other truck? (Ididtit column AOD and Lokar cable kit)
Great job again. And please keep them pictures coming...

thanks. on the Column, yes, I found CPP is selling a generic column, 3 or 4 speed.. for 1/2 the Ididit price.. Universal Chrome Tilt Steering Column With Shifter 30" | eBay
the truck had floor shift, but I'm not sure I need that with the center console we'll put in. Now just have to repair the floor. Link to topic
the drivetrain will be a 383 stroker, 450hp with fuel injection and all pretty front parts, with a built up 700r4 OD tranny in front of the 9in thats already there.
| edit.. we decided to do a late model 5.3 EFI GM engine, still keeping the 700-r4 and 9in. later pics show it installed.
column info pic below, has both step and straight shift arms, 3 & 4 speed glass (shown below) lighted I think.
tilt, shift, emergency, turn. GM harness connector, late model splines for typical wheel adapters.
my ididit shift column does not have the gear window.

great thread Sam, always nice to see complete pics with explanations...Rake looks good as well, also, I swapped my tie plates for my new 9inch cause the old dana44 plates didn't work...I had to re-work the rear shock placement. what I'm getting at is I found inexpensive plates at the local trailer world...They worked good however, I had to grind them down a bit due to being a bit wide for my u bolts to line up and not angel into the perch...another thing, i won't rip on the SBC placement, you earned bragging rights with the 55...lol
danged hot here.. 67 days over 100.. and counting.. new all time record on wed probably.. forecast is same thru next friday (12 days from now) at least..
will start to work on the cab floor next..
anybody done a dash repair on a 56? the PO really hacked away at this one..
full panel vs patches?
