It is the top or cap that goes over the end of the copper tubing to seal it off. If I remember it was for 1 and something pipe. Considering I had nothig but an idea I don't feel $10 is to bad and definatly cheaper than I could buy it.
I talked to Sy at MidFifty yesterday about the rear suspension, and short of going with a 4bar solution, or a monoleaf spring, I'm about the best I can be. She did suggest that I could look for other axle spring pads at trailer shops, which might help me cut out a little more room (I still have a little over 1/2 inch of waste after I use the TCI supplied pads. the MF pads also are about 1/2 inch.)
I also mentioned that the PO had drilled the holes on the passenger bedside too high and she mentioned this is probably not his fault.. it appears that in 57 ford mounted the fenders 1 inch higher than on the 56, and the bedsides had the holes drilled higher to support this. She thinks that the bedside was replaced and the PO got a 57 bedside without knowing it.!!
so, swapping the bedside would be required, but fixable without too much trouble (money vs time as always!).. I don't need to do this in the near term, not til near paint time.
I would just like to say that following this thread I see some amazing work that you are doing. For some of us that come into this forum this gives us drive to get what our passion is in ford trucks moving even more! Seeing your pics reminds me of all of the time I spent watching the collision techs at the body shop I worked at perform some amazing stuff to vehicles. I could only wish to have half this talent! Now that I have hijacked this thread I will leave it at that! Keep it up! Love what you are doing!

I am humbled. I do hope that my passion rubs off on the folks here as much as all your passion rubs off on me! and I have to say that you all challenge me to stretch and try things.
Thank you. Your interest pushes me to try harder to provide clearer info on work that we all can do.
Couldn't have put it better myself, a job well done.
As a person that also has a build thread I understand and fully agree with you about providing a clear record of what you have done. In that record you have shown both sides of the issues and what you had to do to resolve your issues. This gives strength to people reading that they can do it also. Provides a great deal of satisfaction knowing that you have helped somebody.
Sam, you have to realize all the people you have helped and you will never hear about by providing such good examples of "It can be done so just get out there and do it".
Just wondered Sam. I remember you from the GSMR in 2010. Not sure we meet or if we did you probably wouldn't remember me. I didn't have my truck there.
