steering column

I have an 82 with the tilt broke on the column. I have a spare column from my 78 and was wondering if it can be used? Any help would be appreciated.

Doesnt the 79 have the ignition switch in the dash?

yeah my bad i sold the truck about 10 years ago the columns just been in the attic of the garage I forgot about the ignition.

Could I still use it and just put a separate switch in if everything else will work? Its just a wood truck to try to keep the Dodge from falling apart around my Cummins.

I think I'd either try to fix the tilt or get a colmn fro the junkyard that fits.
