My mom's putting off the dinner 'till tomorrow night so now I'm on my own. Looking at the weather, the wind won't calm down until around Thursday so I might go wash the truck real quick... I got some dirt and grime on it at my buddy's house before I was working on the LM. The cup race is almost over. Maybe I'll do some quick wax on it too... then wait and have my buddy who details do a full wax/buff deal on it to bring out the sparkles. I'm not sure, I have to go out to get food anyway no matter what I do.
Love it so far. No complaints, part of me wishes I did get the diesel with 800ft/lb of torque but I love the truck. I've been building them since the '08's and I finally got the one I wanted... took 4 years
I'll get back to you guys on towing... I have a 21ft travel trailer and I got the reg done on it so I can take it out this year
I wrote down some numbers before I put the intake and exhaust on it.
Mixed highway and city, maybe about 60/40 I was getting about 13.5 before the thing had 1000 miles on it. When I did a mileage run from here to Wallingford (reset the info center both ways), I averaged about 14.5 out and 12.1 back, but the back was a couple more backroads and I had an 800# plow on the front of it. Now the gauge says 14.0, but I've been driving a little more aggressively because of the sound
Average range of it when I fill it up is about 450-480 miles according to the "Miles to E" screen.
I did the math on a 2000 mile trip to Indiana and Tennessee last year and averaged 14 with my 7.3. While its nothing to write to Guinness about, its more than enough for an engine that could move a house
Hey all long time no see. Hope everyone here in ct is doing good. Got out a decided to start working on my truck. I put a new temperature gauge sender in, and also put a actual oil pressure sender in a cut out the 20ohm resister in the cluster, and jumpered it with a piece of wire. The temperature gauge now works, and the oil pressure gauge moves and works, the truck runs oil pressure right in the middle, absolutely excellent oil pressure, for a 165000 mile truck thats been beat on as landscaping truck, plow truck, and tow machine. I would suggest anyone attempting this mod get the oem ford sender extension it will make life much easier.
