I have a fuel leak on the driver's side under the secondary fuel filter. I can not see any leaking on the filter housing at all. It is a little hard to see directly underneath it, but I don't think that is where it is coming from. That whole filter housing and the connections look clean and dry. I can see the fuel dripping from the bottom of the engine and am just wondering what else might be leaking fuel on that side. I have a picture of the spot it is dripping from underneath, but am not allowed to post it? Any help you might have would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Thanks, Bismic. I don't see or feel any leak from that whole assembly (fuel filter cap, connections or regulator cover). If there is fuel under that, does it have to be from there or is there anything lower still that could be leaking, maybe toward the bottom of the engine? It is an 06 with just under 140000 miles. Any other ideas?
90% of the fuel leaks I have read about here are either cracked filter caps or the pressure regulator cover. I don't think I've ever read about a leak in a fitting or a line, unless the fitting had been disconnected and not reconnected properly.
Feeling foolish, but I found it. It is the fuel pressure regulator cover. I sat and watched it this morning for a few minutes and saw it drip. It was falling straight down and left no trace on the bottom of the regulator so I was missing it before. What is the best place online to order that replacement kit? Thanks again for the help, I would not be attempting to fix this without the great help from this forum.
You can try Parts Guy Ed, on this forum. He is out on medical leave at the moment but his co-workers are stepping up and helping out. www.partsguyed.com
Another option is to begin a relationship with the parts guy at one of your local Ford dealerships. They are known for higher prices on a lot of items, but if you're going to be trying a lot more work on your truck, and you've built a relationship, and you've been in and out a few times, you'll get much better consideration on the prices. (At least this has worked for me.)
My local guy has been real helpful. It's nice to be able to see his computer screen and talk about needed parts and kit options right there so we're all on the same page. He printed an oasis report for me. Some guys have mentioned having to pay at other dealers.
For a once off nut or bolt or plastic clip he'll just grab one of the shelf.
I've purchased from Ed, and it's nice to support this site, but it's also nice to have that local contact.

Agree with the above post about cultivating the local dealership. I have two orphan fords, 89 and 93 Taurus SHO's and the local dealership parts guy gives me trade on all my purchases as well as being able to look up on the screen with him what I need and sometimes tells me a better way to get a no longer available part. And BTW there are a lot of no longer available parts for these engines. Ian
Got the part at the Ford dealer. Looks like the start of a good thing. The regulator is installed and not leaking yet. I did find out I need more tools.
