The good......The dealer had to go thru some red tape but they say that the transfre case will be replaced under warranty! They said having the plow package helped with the argument..
The bad....Transfer case is back ordered 10 days...

Red tape?
How could they have NOT found this to be a manufacturing defect?
How could they have NOT found this to be a manufacturing defect?
Probably because there is always a chance they could use the "mis-use or abuse" clause of the warranty. I have heard the same about the snow plow package ensuring coverage in case of issues like this. Not sure why though. The package doesn't provide a beefier drive train. Maybe it is because by buying it you are acknowledging it will be used for plowing.
I also saw when I researched the ESP that vehicles used for plowing have a different price that non plowing vehicle (not that it has the option, but actually has a plow attached).
when mine got replaced the t case was also back ordered as well for my truck. it took about a week for them to get one in. I had to drive 250 miles back out there to pick the truck up, which kinda sucked.
my truck was built in September any idea on when yours was built??
Somehow - I can't see that this is right.. I cannot see how any company can sell you a defective product - especially a $50k product - and keep it for a month (or Longer) without some sort of reconciliation - besides fixing it.
I realize the small print says that they are not responsible for a "loaner vehicle" & yada, yada, yada.. But, there have been several instances that we have seen on these boards where the customer has had vehicles (with defects) break & they have very little recourse other than sit & wait (and pay their car loan).. because the parts are not available??
I am a Ford stockholder & while I do want the company to operate efficiently the common parts should be available - even if they have to have a single distribution center that uses UPS to get parts to the necessary place. You think that is too costly?? - Wait until aggravated customers take their business somewhere else...
