my truck suddenly started to have this problem. when i am accelerating there is a vibration,if i let off the gas a little then it gos away until i start to accelerate again. wasnt doing it earlier today now it wont stop
Welcome to the Forum! You probably need to give a little more info,Miles on the engine/tranny,and work done lately,Engine size etc....From what I can tell from your post, something is becoming out of balance under acceleration. This could be something simple,or very serious.
Do you feel it when the truck is sitting still, and revving only? or does this seem to be only while moving?
What Im trying to determine here is wheather its drivetrain,or perhaps frame issues.
If you do not get a code withing a couple of days regarding a misfire, try tapping the brake while accelerating. If the vibration stops, and the truck speeds up smoothly, you may have a failing torque converter.
it is a 2003 four door f150 with a triton 5.4 liter engine and has about 132,000 miles on it. it started last night and it was only while driving, however i started it this morning and it wascutting out a little when it was ideling.I was thinking maybe its not getting enough fuel due to a clogged filter or injector. i have a co-worker bringing me a diagnostic to check codes tommorow.
For it to be idling erratically, the fuel filter would have to be plugged nearly shut. I'd concentrate more on a COPS problem. Check for loose spark plugs, bad cops/plug connections, water pooling around the base of the spark plugs ( if you can find some long Q-tips, swab around the plugs and see if any are wet).
Scan tool may show a pending misfire code as well, if you can check that fairly soon.
code shows that cylider#2 is misfireing from what i have looked up it is supposed to be the second cylinder back on passenger side , my plan is check pug then wires , any advice is appriciated ty.
Im having the exact same problem with cycl.#2 on my truck. I have a 2001 4.6L. I put new plugs in and new coil packs on, and now I narrowed it down to the injector on the #2 cycl.
