Started truck, foot on the brake, put in reverse, as I was letting off brake and starting to move in reverse, it reved-up an accelerated. Its done it twice in two days now. Whats the deal???
That's not a lot of info to go on, but on '03/early '04's failed ICP sensors are fairly common and can cause a surge like that. There's a good write up on it in the tech folder sticky at the top of the page.
thanks, i just bought a icp that im changing this weekend due to oil leak suspect. would this also cause some irradic turbo opening/closing-at least thats what it sounds like at the exhaust when at start-up?
If you're familiar with the workings of a VGT turbo, sweep would mean that the turbo vanes get moved through their operating range to prevent carbon buildup from freezing them in one position. Sweep could also be read cycle. I've never heard that the EGR valve went through the same cycling sequence though.
