transmission help
I am going to change the fluid and filter in my 99 f250 automatic, but was wondering how to get all of the fluid out of the cooler. The book says that it takes like 17 quarts. So I figure if I am going to change it I might as well replace it ALL with new. Any thoughts?

most places use a machine to pump all the fluid out. other than that im not sure how else you would get it all out. you could disconect the lines at the cooler and push some air through get the fluid out of there. (just a thought)

Here's how you can change all of the fluid everywhere in the system. The article could use an update - MERCON V is now the correct fluid.
