transmission help/solinoid pack install
i have a 96 7.3 psd with a e4od. need to install a cell pack/solinoid pack. from what ive found is that i have to pull the pan. what else is in the way, will i have to remove the valve body? just wanting to know what im getting into tommorrow. thanks for any help. Brent

You have to remove the pan, but not the valve body. Once the pan is off there is nothing in the way.

ok i need more help. installed the cell pack on sunday and it didnt fix the proplem. the transmission runs at least 25 degrees warmer than it ever has (150 to 170). when it gets warm it starts acting up. when it leaves a light in first gear it feels like your power braking it, holds second gear for a very long time, down shifts hard into first gear. any ideas? thanks brent.

will it have codes even if the o/d lights not flashing? i have no way to pull the codes. will have to take it back to the transmission shop again.

It may have codes. It's always the best place to start diagnosing what's wrong.
