Welcome to the site!

Where is that damn Julie when you need her??

OK.

I think you will need a 12 volt coil.

As you have done, the S terminal on the solenoid is to send battery power via the big cable to the starter and is activated by the start position on the ignition switch.

Power (12 volts) goes to the + terminal of the coil from the ignition side of the ignition switch. (Different from the accessory terminal so that the points are only energized when running) Because 12 volts will burn the points you will have to install a ballast resistor (cuts the points back to around 6-8 volts) in the wire from the ignition switch to the + terminal on the coil.

The I terminal on the solenoid is a 12 volt by-pass that sends 12 volts to the coil when starting / cranking so that starting is better and is also attached to the + terminal on the coil.

The – terminal on the coil goes to the distributor (points).

Clear as mud, huh?

Someone has a picture and will hopefully post it.
