1994 e4od trans issue
I have a 94 f-250 with the e4od trans, seems to shift fine, but has no overdrive, and sometimes seems to slam into second or third gear, I replaced the mlps, and disconnested the batteries for about a half hour, but still does the same thing, also its is sometimes sluggish from a dead stop, other times it pulls strong, I am just about at my wits end with it does anyone have any suggestions?

Check for codes:Ford Fuel Injection » How To Run a Self-Test to see what the PCM thinks is wrong. Many times there can be a stored code without have a Check Engine Light on.
Warm up the engine and transmission then check for codes using the procedure outlined above, or purchase a code reader.

thanks for the reply, I had it to the trans shop, it has no codes,they told me it was just plain broke,but I was told there is a solinoid block inside the trans that is usually the problem, and it can be purchased for around 100.00 and is pretty easy to change, so I may try that,has anyone had any luck changing one?

IMHO if it was a solenoid issue you would have codes. The PCM looks for the proper impedance of those solenoids that make up the solenoid block.
