last month i installed my harmonic balancer on my 466 (460 bored .030) and when i was putting the heads on this past weekend I noticed the balancer isn't flush with the the end of the crankshaft. I'm not sure if it's suppose to be? I rented the installer from a local parts store and i thought i had it all the way on.
theres about an 1/8 inch gap where the balancer could slide on that much more. It seems like it needs to be flat so the large washer and bolt that holds it on can be on there flat
but I haven't got the pulleys on yet, i finally got the head put on last weekend
hopefully i can get over to the shop on wedensday and get a picture. it seems like the spacer is seated into the timing seal but theres the small gap between the end of the crankshaft and the face of the balancer
