U Joint shields

I'm gonna be taking my truck in a couple pulls this year and the orginazation I would be running with COTPC requires U Joint shields that are a minum 1/4 thick steel. I need ideas of what they should look like. But even better would be if someone in ohio had some for sale.

Not sure what a ujoint sheild is................Are you meaning driveshaft loops?????? They keep the driveline from flailing around in case of a ujoint failure. If so, Ive used the universal ones from Summit on my Chevelle and Nova, but never tried them on a dent.

I think he does mean driveshaft loops. If not, I'm not sure what he needs. All I've seen on my brothers mud race truck is the driveshaft loops.

Yes I mean the driveshaft loop. I have to have two on the rear and one on the front. But the loops have to be at the U Joint and they have to be 6 inchs long where it covers the U Joint I can't find any 6 inchs long and I don't have a welder.

You may have to see if a local shop can make some up to accomodate your rules for pulling. Also, does your local organization have a forum or webpage you can ask. There may be some guys there that have an idea. Otherwise, maybe you can find a buddy who has a welder to save some cost. Good thing is, once they are made, that should be it. I'd make them a bit stronger too just so you don't have to make up new ones if you have problem with the drive shaft. Also, is 6 inches the maximum or minimum loop? Or can they be smaller that a more universal loop will work.

U-joint shields are pretty common in pulling competitions.

This is a chev but it's a good pic to give you an idea of how
