Hey I'm new on here, but i just recently bought a excursion, and when I turn the truck off the radio cuts off. The windows still work. Its the same when I turn the key to accesory mode. Just could use a little insight on what this issue could be.

The radio and windows should be active for 10 minutes after you turn the key off OR until you open one of the doors.
If the radio is turning off either an issue with the radio or the 12 switched circuit. The switched circuit is the one that is on the timer.
Factory radio?aftermarket?
There is a relay called Delayed Accessory relay - it is what provides the power to the accessories after the key is turned off and before a door is opened. Check that relay - location in your manual - may be missing or bad.
Looking for advise, a lot of my problems have been discussed and not sure all my problems attributed to one item malfunctioning. Most problems seem to point to the GEM/VSM which I just replaced and nothing changed (used module could be bad IDK). Tried changing relays in the fuse panel in the cab.
1. Turn key and or engine on, radio and windows more often than not don't work, but will come on and work after a few minutes of running, sometimes longer run times that others. 2. Turn key on and relay in fuse panel "chatters" and truck will not start. Turn key off and on multiple times until "chatter" stops and truck will start. Occasionally while driving the truck dies and relay is "chattering". 3. Switch to engage 4x4 not working. 4. Display on overhead console not working5. Power mirrors not working6. Dome light comes on when truck is parked (removed bulbs to keep from killing battery)7. While driving at night with head lights in the "brights" position the headlights turn off but come back on when they are dimmed.8. Batteries drain over night unless disconnected.

that relay is inside the Cluster Panel on my 2002 XLT Excursion
Ever replaced windshield ? They are known to leak on driver's side corner, which then lets water drip down into fuse box.
Bad contacts on those circuits can cause all sorts of electrical gremlins. My fob would only unlock the driver's door for the past few months... had been off & on prior to just doing driver's door. Yesterday,... it started unlocking everything again ?! wtf?
I just verified the windshield has been replaced, leak tested and sometime this week will replace fuse box with another one. Maybe that will fix my other gremlins too.
