Hi, I was curious as if there's a way to wire in a relay into the accessories circuit that would allow the radio, power windows, and such to keep working after you turn the key off. And then once you open the door it would shut down. I know there is an accessory position on the key switch, but was just curious about the relay idea since I've seen several new vehicles with this "automatic" feature.
Thats one thing I miss about my Ranger and aggervates me about this truck. Im used to being able to turn the key off and still listen to the radio and roll the windows up and down, untill the doors are opened. On these truck turn the key off and everything dies. This issue is on my "to do list" of things to figure out. If I come up with something I'll let yall know.
yeah just run a from your radio hot and radio key on wire hot is yellow and keyon is red iirc
run them two wires to a switch and your set!! i did it on my truck and love it, setting it up like 97hd said you would just need a relay with a latching coil that would unlock when your dome light goes back out after closing the door.
i like the switch though so you can have your radio on without the key i originally did this just for the radio and found out the windows work with it on
