Well...the elocker is activated off of the 4wd switch in the 09+ trucks. You have to pull the **** out to activate it. Not only that, but it is set to disengage (IIRC) at a certain speed. It's designed for low speed use (mud, rocks, boat launches, etc). Additionally, you'll have to run all that wiring, and I cannot remember if it's tied into a computer or not.
Not to mention that if you find a wrecked Raptor or 09+ F150 with the locker, then you have to worry about how bad the ring gears are worn in said truck. Could be bad, could be good.
You'd probably be better off with an air locker system from ARB: Air Lockers
why would i not be able to just cut the wires just outside the diff and wire it to a switch in the cab and have total control of its on and off but i do understand that a smoother road would be the aftermarket ones but i was just thinking if i could use the raptor parts and get a $400 locker, those elockers and most air lockers are like $1000. also why would i care about the ring gear?

They lasted me til about 89k, but I never went pass 20k without doing pumpkin service because I used it on the ranch quite a bit. If you're worried about burn outs with 35 you can kiss your tranny goodbye as well as your brake lines. A buddy ended up toasting both in only a year of 'playing around' with his bfg35'' allterrains. Ultimately if you do slot of burnouts your going to need to install a front pressure block like on dragsters and upgrade to braided steel brake lines. LS is supposed to keep you from loosing traction. I didn't start getting quality burnouts from a stoplight with no brakes until I hit 350rwhp... So keep that in mind too...
