460 problems again

460 problems again
im almost sure its time to rebuild the old 460 any ideas on cheap rebuild kits or maybe ideas on what happened would be nice it has a knock at 2500 rpms but no power loss or smoke and good oil pressure just the bottom end knock this is my first 460 have had a few fords none with this many problems.

Year, mileage, does it happen cold or hot, under load?
What "many problems"?
Do you have any maintenance records?
How long have you had it?
My 460 seemed unbreakable until well over 300,000 miles.

Trying timing u can time a motor and itll ideal fine but drive itll it make aaknocking noise. But worst case crank bearing is starting to go and summit has great kicks starting at 400 for a small block sure its a liitle more for a big block. Can get differnt ones that include vareas things

If it's 20+ years old there's no doubt it's worn out.
Plenty of master rebuild kits on Ebay as well.
If you have cheap access to a machine shop it would be smart to do as much cleanup work as you can before ordering anything.
Otherwise, a remanned longblock will likely save you both time and money.

I agree take it apaort before u order if thats what u decide to do. Have every thing miced so no if u have to get over orundersized bearings. Or have to hone or bore the block.
Only my opionion no ebay ive had bad experiance but dosent mean u will.

Its more than likely a rod bearing , take it to a good machine shop , they will tell you what it needs before you order anything....Lew
