The thing I don't get is the only sign I have is the cold start. All the other test and data logs were good on stock. With my tunes on120 I had high duty cycle and low icp.
David I'm pretty much in the same boat as you, mine was romping at pretty much any temp below 50. I've got close to 190k on it & run the Delvac15w40 & it would romp on the first start of the day always so after all I've heard I'm pretty sure the injectors are pretty tired. I gave the (snake oil) Rev-X a try hoping I'll be able to R&R injectors this summer, lo & behold that joker has not romped since. I'm not saying the Rev-X fixed anything but I do believe that it's doing something for my situation. I'm gonna get Marty to hook-up the AE & make sure my ICP & IPR are doing what there supposed to be doing before I spring for injectors but as of right now that's where I'm at. IMHO the snake oil has been a good band-aid for mine.
Did your truck run any beter performance wise after the additive? Also do you notice you truck running more sluggish compared to when you first bought it.
Did you test your GPR yet? My Truck used to be horrible if it wasn't plugged in too but if I plugged it in, it fired right up like yours did in the video.. It would be just like cj45lc's.. hard to start after sitting for an extended period.. but then start every time after as long as it was warm...I put in a new GPR & its fired up every time since without ever plugging it in here in PA. I know everyone keeps saying injectors, oil, etc.. But I think i'd make sure my GP's were operating before I started looking elsewhere.. A $100 or less part is much better than spending $1000's on injectors.. Just makes sense to me, that if you have issues when its cold but not otherwise.. that your GP's aren't operating & the motor is trying to fire on a cold cylinder & can't..

Short answer NO, I cannot say the truck ran any better with the Rev-X. Does it romp NO not at all since pouring the stuff in. I've had it in since August, 2 oil changes. 8oz in oil that had about 2500 miles on it & I thought engine was quieter but was telling myself it was the old spent $$ had to do something, but when the wife got in the truck a couple days later & asked what I'd done to it kinda made me stop & think, when I changed oil it was getting a little cooler & I didn't put anything in the fresh oil, romp promptly returned. Tried 4oz & had occasional romp, put another 4oz, no romps since & temps have been in the teens. I can say that I don't think the truck was sluggish but that's just seat of the pants feel. I'm thinking the snake oil is doing it's thing on the tight tolerances or lack thereof in my tired injectors. BTW my GP system is & has been up to par. I'm in no way saying the Rev-X has or will fix anything BUT I have not had a romp with it in my oil.
Thanks for the video clip Dan - I could see the difference after watching it twice. Nice, I didn't know this tune was available. Between this an Bill's tow tunes I bet you're quite happy with your tuner!

I reread this thread but didn't see anywhere that you mentioned that they were checked unless I missed it somewhere - Since the block heater heats the block and not the oil pan.
x2 all 3 for the 250 we have when you have the lights and the gp you can see the lights get dimmer, i could not see that happen to you. think gp.

I really like the GPR LED Mod for reasons like this. I was always fooled because the WTS light was on I assumed they were working & had no idea that my GP's weren't really working at all until I hooked it up.. Like I said in my previous post.. I had to plug my truck in last winter every night it was 40 degrees & below or it was a bugger to start in the morning. Now that I have the new GPR I haven't plugged it in once this winter & its started every time with only 30 seconds or so of the GP's cycling...(And we've seen nights below 0)
When I turn my key on I have never noticed my volt gauge move or lights dim. I got hold of a good meter today. What's the easiest way to check both.
How close are you to New Orleans? I'll help you out if you like. The only catch is I am here at the convention center downtown and I don't have a vehicle so you would need to come here. But, there is plenty of overhead cover in the hotel parking garage here.
Do you folks not HEAR the truck start before it dies?
Have you ever had a truck with bad glow plugs or a bad glow plug relay?
Not disagreeing with you at all Cody. Just figured they needed to be checked anyway and it doesn't take much but a piece of wire and a multimeter. Just a part of winter PM.
