yeah my next buy will be plugs and a block heater im pretty sure they are both bad i just need to get more money. but first i need to get some batterys but that is kind of a pain because my dad dosent understand that i need to buy two. he just wants me to buy one. so im gonna go get the money out of the bank and get them myself
I would do TWO Batteries, 8 Motorcraft/Beru Glow Plugs now and the block heater later unless it's really cold where you are you do not really need the block heater, it is more of a handy bonus.
Just my 2 cents worth, you most likely have air intrusion if it started fine and now does not. I would fix that problem first, leaky line(s) somewhere. Get the tank full of diesel, bleed your injector lines at the injectors. If you can't afford glow plugs/block heater now get the under side of your truck as warm as possible, don't burn anything, or get it in a real warm garage. Get juice to whatever you currently have for glow plugs, do these things and it might/should start.
PS even if you can't afford new batteries right now, fully charge yours, keep the charger on while cranking or jump with another vehicle, you must spin over the engine fast to get it started, do not let it crank slowly, even if you do not find the air leak first, my two comments should get you started, depending on how cold it is where you are, then find and fix a leak or two.
You are wasting your time and starter life with poor batteries.
It is a must to have TWO GOOD 850CCA (or more) batteries ... The amps required to start these motors is extremely high.
They also must spin over pretty fast, 100+ RPMs ... If you can count the rotations of the motor it will not start!
To much line loss when dealing with jumper cables, unless your battery charger has a jump mode (even then) it'll will do little good.
ill be picking up some batteries monday or tuesday. then i will save up for some glow plugs. trying to sell a guitar pedal and pistol to get me money untill i can find a job. thanks for all your help you guys its much appreciated!!!
got all the autolite plugs out with no problems other then the stupid turbo being in the way other then that they looked great i was surprised. pickin up the motorcrafts tomorrow!
