You'll have to take both seats off their tracks, as reg cab and ext cab have different floor pan shape so reg-cab tracks won't fit your ext-cab floor. Other than that it should fit just fine, and if you cut the silly cable in middle of the seat back you'll be able to tilt it forward enough to hit the steering wheel with it (allows for very easy access to what's behind the seat).
Rather than cutting the cable, there's only one bolt on it anyway, just undo it and away you go. Used to do that with all my reg cab trucks, gave better access to the stray stuff behind the seat.

Damn that would have been a good idea to know! That cable always pissed me off because the seat would just want to fall back in place. So I'd have to hold it with one hand, and try and dig around with the other.
I fixed that problem by putting in a split bench from a 99 F150 extended cab. That required some modifications though...
