I'm in the process of building a '69 F250 W/460. The motor's built and on the stand but I'm having trouble locating headers. It's a 1969 f250 2wd auto trans, PS, PB.
The 460 wasn't used in a truck untill 1978 to the best of my knowledge and only in the F350 2wd.
The frame from the back of the cab forward (rail width, cab mounts, ect.) of the 78-79 1-ton (ONLY the 1-ton, F350) was the same as your truck... so that's what I'ld look into, as set of headers for a 78-79 F350 1-ton 2wd with the 460. They should fit fine.
The 460 was also used in later years but I have no idea of frame widths, motor mount towers, (ect.) comparisons to yours.
Would headers off a 74 fit? A 74 what, cause it couldn't be a truck. There's only 2 engines in the 385 series of engines used in passenger vehicles, the 429 and the 460, neither of which came in pickups in 74. Headers off a car might fit but could be a nightmare getting them to fit. It simply isn't worth the aggrevation to try to make them fit a different application then what is specified, trust me... been there, done that!
They fit good, but I've also built the motor mounts and was able to design around them so they'd fit so I can't swear to how they'd fit around a stock frame layout.
