I've read that SCT will be releasing a new tuner next year which will make the X4 obsolete just like the X3 is now. They no longer support the X3 either. Not sure if tuner's still do.
If you are all stock, I would NOT tune it.
You really should install ARP head studs if you want to increase power. I know this after going through a head gasket failure of my own after tuning with my SCT 4. So, if you still decide to tune it, have a little cash set aside for repairs. Just my opinion.
Gearhead makes good headbolt safe tunes, SRL is one of them. Hokiehivpi and quite a few others have been running this tune on their stock headbolt truck without issue.
The shifting with Matt's tunes in SRL is what will get you. I've run Vivian's tunes, KEM, and a few others I can't think of and I always came back to Matt's tunes. Needless to say, I've not strayed at all, lol.
