Headers?

Please don't shoot me down to bad

I am going to put headers on my 390 while it is out

Which would be better long tube headers or shorty headers?

and wich would be the best for a 1969 F-100 truck?

Thanks
-Brandon-

Depends, which headers you choose and which truck you have.

Any of the name brand headers is the way to go. Try here:

Long tubes will be a bigger improvement, especially with ported heads. I ran into one header(Dynomax coated) issue with my '66 with MT. The clutch release fork hit the collector, I had to modify the fork(picture in gallery) to clear. You might not have that problem in your '69.

Sorry for the delay, memorial day obligations.

Anyway, on my '70 F100 I have Hedman headers. They work ok. If I had it to do again however, I'd spend the extra $$$ and get the ceramic coated units.

My 73' F250 w/390 the headman headers went in bolted up to the engine. It was tight and would have been easier with help, but I got them in by myself with out to much hassle. I also had the bellhousing and starter mounted up.

The coated headers retain heat in the pipes which helps improve exhaust flow, it keeps the engine bay a little cooler and the pipes do not rust out.
3 reasons for coated headers!!
