hi all. i just gotta vent some so bare with me. isnt it common sense to make sure a vehicle is in neutral before you turn the key? i asked a friend to start my truck for me(i was under the hood and didnt want to keep getting up and down off the truck) well he starts the truck alright but its in granny gear and plows forward and hits the garage door opening AND the back end of my 75 bronco that was parked in the garage.
any idea how much im looking at to get a body shop to fix this? im almost afraid to find out...

If you can find a Shop that will work on it probably the best route would be a new Roof Skin (if you can even still get them) if not it will have to be repaired.. without actually seeing the dent and how deep it is between 12 and 15 hours fixing it. plus the time for paint and r&I time for the windshield and interior peices.
heh thanks for the silver lining. my friend really feels bad and offered to help pay for some of it but he doesnt make much money and is barely getting by right now. so as much as i hate to say it it looks like its just gonna be coming out of my pocket
I don't know what level of Auto insurance that you carry (I only carry liability on my truck) but you may want to find out if your homeowner's insurance would cover that, since it happened on your site. Just a thought....
well all first off i want to thank you for your comments and ideas. heres the skinny from the body shop i went to. they said they could salvage my roof.( yay!) now to the damage to the pocketbook. they said they could have it done in 4 to 5 days with a bill of 700 dollars. thats not paint thats just primer. i didnt think that was too bad of a price since most people who saw those pictures had said i was looking at about 1k to 1500 dollars. im sure glad it wasnt that much. altho i can think of other things id rather spend my 700 dollars on
it was going to be about 250 more to replace the top. and if at all possible i really wanted to keep my cab since its rust free. hopefully ill have my baby back monday
