A couple more pictures of the debris that killed my IPR. I removed the screen from the end of the IPR and scraped out the stuff that was inside the bore. I don't know what it is but it looks like pieces of hard brown plastic material. Under a magnifying glass I can see what looks like molded edges on a couple of the pieces. Could a plastic part inside the engine have come apart?

sorry about mixing up the code.
the p2263 is a circuit fault. if the valve works fine electricly and will ohm out fine back to the pcm.
what you had was a mechanicaly failed valve. that should have got you to a 2291,
p2290.

Good to know, thanks. No codes at all came up on the ScanGaugeII, but I'm not sure the thing is capable of reading 2290 and 2291.

Care to take a guess about where the little pieces of plastic may have come from? That's still bugging me.

I didn't look at it but the tech who did the oil cooler replacement said the sump screen was torn a little. Did the original screens have a plastic binding around the edge or something?
