Stage 1 injectors

Stage 1 injectors
I'm looking to upgrade my injectors to stage 1's. If I do this, what, if anything, must be upgraded to assist the new injectors? Currently I have 3"dp with 4" straight pipe, cold air intake and thats pretty much it. Thanks Sean

Nothing is needed persay... Automatic or manual transmission? Stage 1's with no chip will act just like stock injectors, so you might want a custom tuned chip. I would get gauges on that thing too before you chip it, that way you can keep an eye on temps.

you're on the right track with intake and exhaust. In order to monitor what it happening in your engine, it is recommended that you install at minimum a pyrometer to measure exhaust gas temperatures. In general, people go with a 3 gauge A-pillar pod and get boost, pyro, and trans temp (if auto trans), but there are many options and many different gauge configurations available. To take full advantage of the 1's, you're going to want a chip burned for your needs. There are multiple vendors available for this including DP-Tuner, Total Diesel Performance, Power Hungry performance etc.. just google any of those to get you on the right path.

You'll get some HP with Stage 1 injectors and no chip, but not a lot. The PCM just doesn't know how to use the injectors unfortunately.
It's worth the upgrade. Better fuel economy and motor efficiency. Go for it.

I forgot to mention I'm looking at a TW Chip and I do have Rosewood Diesel as one of my favorites. I will look into gauges. The 140V IDM is something else I'm looking into, what resistor do I need. I have elected my dad to do some soldering for me, he does that I don't. Do you guys have a favorite gauge? Sean

The IDM mod doesn't really do anything, your better off doing the FPR Shim mod.
Riffraff Diesel: Riffraff 94-97 Turbo Intake Boot
Intake replacement boot might help you some.
