Just finished it up and it still runs after I put it back in! Just wanted to post the pics on here for those of you who might want them...
Started with my stock IDM 100
Next found the blue resistor marked 6042
Removed it and carefully soldered in the new resistor
I didn't want to get the resistor too close to the circuit bored as there wasn't much space, I know others solder it closer but I wanted to stay on the safe side.
After I soldered in the new resistor I put a dab of silicone between the resistor and the green part next to it to keep it in place.
Put a bead of silicone around the cover and pressed it back together till it set up. Re-installed in the truck and it started right up! I was pretty nervous for a while though...
Havn't taken it out for a drive but will report on how it runs when I do.
I just used a small screw driver, pushed lightly on the side of the resistor and it broke up. I removed all of the pieces, soldered in the new one and viola, done.

No, but I don't keep track of my mileage anymore. I found that it would only fluctuate by 1-2 gallons. I also found that my right foot really dictated my MPG's and sense I am a torque addict I was my own worst enemy.

Did you use the grey RTV or what kind of silicone?. Reps sent.
Jose, I used the Ford Grey silicone when I sealed mine, figured this is not the place to chance a leak. I used regular silicone to stablize the resister to that tall unit next to it.

I'm really not sure if some of the other commercial RTV's won't work as well as the "Ford Grey" but the word around town and on the street claim that it, the Ford Grey contains some "Mystical, Magical Powers" Go figure.
