Thanks for the concurrence Bis. I did a little more research and found the below link that should provide all the info you need about the commonization differences.
There should be a sticker on top of your FICM that will have the engine mfg date. FICM is located on top of your driver's side valve cover toward the firewall. You can also check the sticker on your driver's door to see the mfg date of your truck.
I know that you last posted here was 2011, but how was your power stroke? How much you paid for it? Today my 2003 6.0 head gasket blew up, and I got quoted 9400$!!!!! No way I gonna pay them and I guess I will have to do it by myself. I plan to replace egr, radiator, head gasket, stud bolts, oil cooler and I will replace all gaskets. Gonna be tough job!

All I will need is studs and gaskets anything else?
That's way to much. There's a lot of diesel shops that if you bring the parts 90% of the time they'll help you out with a labor fee, I just got quoted $950 labor with my own parts including studs, egr delete, sinister oilcooler, charge pipes and cold air intake

***** you need to send some of those shops to N.Fla, you cant get an oil cooler replaced for less than 11,00 thats with you supplying parts. I would guess top of my head 3000, if you supply parts. And then no warranty becouse you supplied the parts. I do all my own work. I am also glad truck had studs done before i got it. Its a 2004.5 RWD.
