F150 Rear leaf hangers

The front hangers on my rear leaf springs (77 F150 4x4) appear to be pretty rusted and cracking. The rear hanger looks fine though. I checked a few catalogs I have here and didn't see these offered. Is this something I'm going to have to salvage or would I be able to get them from Ford or elsewhere still?

Also, how hard are they going to be to change? They appear to be rivited on so I guess I'll have to grind them off, then replace with bolts.

I will definitely be replacing my bed this summer and possibly adding a suspension lift so that would be the time to do it I suppose.

Thanks for the info.

i replaced them on a 79 bronco, I got used ones.
Grind the rivets off and bolt the new one on. Make sure you use good bolts and lock nuts or washers

ford sells them for around $50 a peice i think (canadian) i know that's what the rear ones are worth anyway. for bolts, use some grade 8 fine threaded 7/16 bolts...

Hey theonlybull.....just curious, why fine thread? I've always used course thread grade 8, 7/16 with lock nuts and never had trouble...but I have access to plenty of fine thread and if they're better would like to know why and I'll start using them when doing this type work. Later Whit

Fine thread will have less of a tendency to back off and if the bolt is short with the threads all the way to the head they will hold the shear forces (sideways against the thread) a little better.
Either will work. Definitely use Grade 8 though.

exactly what he said... plus that's all i use, we have about 5 boxes of them left over from a couple big jobs, so their all paid for anywhere extra strength is required around industrial machinery, fine thread bolts are the norm.
