I have the Gibson 3in in, 2 - 2/12's out. It sounded great, and quiet, until I changed the Y-pipe. Now it is loud, its hard to believe the sound difference from just a y-pipe replacement.

Do you still have the stock muffler? I'm going to have a single in, dual out muffler.
My stock muffler and tails pipes gave way, so I picked up a Gibson muffler and had it welded in just after the cat, then two short 2 1/2 outpipes from the muffler just before the rear tires.
I can post a pic if it helps, but nice and easy way to go...but it's loud.

I will be doing some research on mufflers. I don't mind it getting somewhat louder, but not loud. A little rumble might be o.k. I don't want to be waking up the whole neighborhood if I drove late at night.
I have not gotten to it yet. I hope to do it soon. Both of our cars had problems, so I had to fix them first, seems like when it rains it poors.
I am giving a link below, and I was wondering if anyone has used this product. I am thinking about buying one, and using it on every stage of my exhaust upgrade to see what each stage does. It probably isn't as good as a real Dyno, but you can get some kind of an idea with it. My 14 year old has an iPod Touch, so it says it will work with that. What does everyone think about the tester? Thanks
What I would like to do is test it while it's all stock. Then test it with the headers. Then test it after a new Y pipe. Then test it after the dual exhaust from the muffler back. This way I can see where the most gains, or losses are made.
