figure in just parts, $800 for axles, atleast $250 for 460 c6 and transfer (running condition), $100 for steering box, maybe $50 for scrap (frame and springs),
thats about $1200 in parts value (prices in my area atleast), are you planning on using the parts or resale? start out low and hope for the best, and remember cash talks
In my area the front 60's range anywhere from 8-1500, depending on how fresh they are. The 460's range from 250-500 depending on freshness. C6's usually in the $100 range. 203 will run you 100-200 depending on demand for doublers. The rear 60 will usually fetch 100-150. Steering box, about $50. Scrap the rest, you're looking at $50ish. So I see individual pieces ranging anywhere between $1450 and $2550. Typically, part outs yield higher returns, but who knows if he has the time, patience or know-how. If he scraps the whole thing, he might be looking at $400 tops (probably closer to 300). So you wanna be somewhere between that scrap value and retail. If it were me, I'd offer 600, but be willing to go as high as $1000.
Well I decided to just get the D60 HP front axle. I spotted some new dents at the local yard. And...seriously you would have laughed your butt off at the bodywork on this thing. I swear it had at least 100 pounds of fiberglass on everything and I mean everything.
Anyway I did not think I would get away with but I did. Got everything from leafs to hubs for $300.00. I figured while I was at it I would take some scrap seeins how I had to take the trailer anyway. Got $300 for that so other than my time it was free.
I've seen 460 for $150 around here and I already have 2, plus D60 rear ends (I already have saved 2 spares).
