my 2002 f250 misses at low RPM and seems to have lost power could this be spark plugs no readings on dash and i have been running high test gas because 87 has to much corn in it or could it just be fuel filter any help would be appericated
thanks for replying its the 5.4 i changed spark plugs and the miss seemed to go away but still does not seem rite "lacking power" i was told EGR valve maby but dont know were to start with that I always got someone else to do my repairs but trying to do more my self my truck has 140,000 on and most of them are rough miles any suggestions
it might be the fuel pump going or fuel filter my thruck which is the same as yours 02 f250 5.4 lacked power for about 5 months then die found out the fuel pump was toast at 205 000km
that sucks but for 205,000 i guess there no shame in that im going to change filter and check on the EGR valve i'll keep you posted thanks. have you had any trouble with 87 octane in ur truck? my truck and car "1990 olds 3.8" runs like S?%$#@ on it! CORN GAS SUCKS!
i run 87 and 89 depenting which gas station i stop at and she runs fine i do run 91 evey now again and i run fuel system cleaning threw her every few months and if its the fuel pump it's a b%$%* to change
weli just changed gas filter 01/21/11 and now my truck misses again WTF taking it to the "PROS" hoping they can figure out whats going on I dont hav a garage and no way to mess with fuel pump unless i do it in drive way heck with that 12"s of snow and a high of 10 degrees out there lol and as far as the gas might just be fuel pump hope not i'll let you know thanks
the fuel pump took me and my father inlaw about 5 hours to change because i had a full tank of gas and han to hand pump all 143L of fuel out you just need hand tools and the fuel line remover tool i can't rember whats it called it not realy that hard but if you got a full tank it is
right on!did your engine lite come on when your fuel pump went out ? took it to local garage and he thinks its coils the way truck acted today 1/24/11 i have to agree just cant understand why it wont show any codes it never did with other coils either so being coils are cheaper im trying them first just figuring out witch one sucks haft to pull each one also going to check fuel pressure just incase but like i said i too now think its coils thanks for the information i will let you know how i make out
just letting you know just changed two coils not sure of order but both were on drivers side deffintly bad miss is gone for now cant believe it replaced coils befor and dint act like that going to runner tomarrow but think we got it thanks for trying any how
