Problem with reverse.
2005
F-250 Super duty
6.0L diesel.
Canadian Model if it makes a difference.
I was plowing with my truck today and half way through my route the reverse on the tranny started to act up.
If the truck is in park and I put it into reverse and go. The whole truck shakes and it struggles in the gear. However. If I switch to reverse wether in park or drive... wait about 4-5 seconds, the truck will reverse normally. It only happens if I dont wait. Regardless of what gear I'm switching from.
I checked the tranny oil. I know some trannys need to be checked running or off.
with the truck ON. the indicator is at the top of the C level.
With the truck OFF the indicator is at the top of the H level.
This is with driving the truck for 30mins.
I suspect the truck needs to be on and at the top of the HOT indicator but I'm not certain.
I called a local tranny shop and the tech thinks its a clogged filter or possibly a solenoid.
Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated!!!
I'm thinking its low on fluid!!!
