Funny when the kettle is calling the pot black. The EPA is not monitoring Joe Blow blowing smoke around the block when setting the emissions standards for our trucks.
Yeah, I have a tuner and can black out the sun if I like. When I'm on the street I run stock or tow tunes. I save the good stuff for the track. I also have a fully intact/functional EGR system, with no block off plates. When my truck's on the road it'll pass any emissions test required.

These trucks run so clean that most guys are at like 2-6 and the allowed is 40

My truck will pass emisions testing with the Extreme street tune installed. Whn my tunes were written Iasked that there be as little smoke as posible, my choice, and also to limit the boost to 22-25 psi, again my choice, but as Tex stated I also like to error on the side of caution its a big invesment and I need to protect it.

The only tuner I would recomend for the 6.0 is a SCTx3 with custom tunes from your vendor of choice.

Here's some advice for 2006powerstroke90... You may need to be careful when producing excessive smoke as the additional soot will probably build up in the EGR valve, intake and EGR cooler which cannot be a good thing for the longivity of your engine. Either way it's your truck and your $$$ so its' your call.
I am by no means a tree hugger. I really can't stand those kind of people. My truck will only blow smoke if I really try to make it do it. Witch I don't do. Yes I have an egr delete, in my truck, but in all honisty I don't really recomend that anymore (due to some more recent discovery's). I do plane to reinstall the system with a bullet proff eventually. The epa does, and will get, phone calls about excessive smoke. I know this because, when the seals went out in my truck, I got a letter from them about a week later. Said something about my truck was seen blowing excessive smoke, and I need to have it fixed ASAP (or something of the sorts). Of course I was on my way to the house when the seals went. I drove strait home, and parked the truck till my turbo came in. At the time of the letter I had already had the problem fixed.

There are only two companies that are highly recomended for tunes. Either this one SCT X3- Innovative Diesel Custom Tuned
or this one gearheadautomotiveperformance The xcal 3 is about half way down on the page
