Anybody using Accel Ignition Coils. I just ordered a set of 10 and want to know if anyone has had good/bad experience with them.

Why didn't you ask before you order them?
Word is ,to stick with OEM.
Do some search and you'll find all you need to know.
Sorry I have no experience with Accel.

My son put a set of 8 Accels on his Cobra about 2 years ago and gained nothing except a lighter wallet. He is now back to a set of OEM coils and his car seems to run as good or better than when he first bought it. Many, if not most aftermarket sales claims are little more than snake oil. Buyer beware.

Thanks for the input. Did he have a problem with the Accels? The only reason I went that route and not OEM is for 10 coils - Motorcraft was $65 each and the Accels were $24 each. I don't expect them to perform any better, I just hope they work as well.

I have read of some premature failures with the Accels however have no experience with them myself. My local dealer charges around $91 for an OE coil. I'm just carrying around a spare coil or two and running my coils until I have issues with them.

I put 10 in my 6.8, since then have been through another 4. they suck if you ask me, and the last one I replaced with an Autozone coil. I think it was about $45. cheaper than oem, more than Accel. hope at least it lasts longer than an Accel.

I put 10 on my V10. The first one failed in a week, the second a couple days later. The third the next day caused all 10 to be replaced with OE type coils.

None of that matters. You already bought them.

Quite a few guys are getting very good deals on new OEM coils on ebay. I suggest that you check there for availability.

for most things 6.8, just buy OEM...

otherwise your just inviting a headache down teh road..

these motors are super fussy about only having stock parts in/on em..

ps i replaced all 10 of my COP's when i tuned the truck up and went OEM, didnt wanna deal with chasing a bad COP down later on..
