i just moved the screw down around the very bottom and it seems to stay we will see if it stays on my way to school in the mornin lol thanks man it looks preetty dang good ill get pics tomorow
i had to do that small mounting bracket to keep it still for good. Now with the CDR on the intake it is really looking good! hahaha. moved the CDR so it is one less thing i have to do when i go full bore on the install.
crank case depression regulator, little tuna can on the back of the intake. has to move when turboing the truck. so i moved mine ahead of time so the install of the turbo itself goes faster. looks like this now
I tried to use a 5-4 rubber PVC adapter for an intake and it was entirely too big and there doesn't look like there is enough room to clamp it to the plenum anyways. Am i doing something wrong?
Well there gonna be play till you tighten the band... But your not trying to fit the "Hub" on the whole pletum just the 1/4 lip.... U might want to cut the ridge on the hub so its a flat surface solid for the clamp... I should have pics on the website if you need some let me know
on the rubber reducer, there will be an indent where the band goes, cut(VERY NEATLY) all of the lip and indent off. Leaving it nice and flat, now put the band on and slide it on the intake, tighten it up and it will hold tight. You will need some kind of bracket depending on what you do with the filter and similar. Check my pics and you will see.
i plan on maken one, but maybe a bit diff. but u have made me think about doing cool mods wrec, so u cut the indent. off the reducer and moved the band up to the thicker part( check ) and made a mount to support the weight of the tubing( check ) did the reducer hold up to the heat??
i ran it for two months and its been on my buddys truck for another two and its still soft. Its made to resist a lot of heat and my never sees over 110. The intake neck stays cold. Like the turbo intake housing as i have now never sees over 130 and its metal. only when i sit in traffic does it get that hot, if im running down the road, its cold when i touch it. It stays a lot colder in there when you have it setup like mine.
Ok thanks, i guess ill try again this weekend. Just got the truck and so far so good. Tried removing the muffler, but made the truck run horrible. Does the intake mod work much better than cutting up the factory setup?
