i believe the trucks built after mid 1999 had the larger rotors,13in i think. As for jacking the truck, i always put the jack in such a place as to be able to have room to put a jack stand in. Usually the jack stand will go on the axle tube.

Yeah, then put the stands under the spring shackles or right next to them.
Whatever works best and is safe.
You don't want that big heavy truck falling off the stands with the wheels off and you working under it!

My stands are rated for 2 tons each. Don`t go any lighter.
