I wish you lived closer Beef. I'd like to give you a ride in my truck, even though I only have AC code injectors (Stage 1 single shots). I think you'd like the ride compared to stock!

P1211, P0478, and P0238 are the three most common codes tripped with a custom tuned 7.3L.

Having driven Stewart's truck, and being stuck recently driving my dad's stock 7.3, I can tell you for sure anyone would love it. I think Stewart kept saying, "don't lift the throttle!"

"pinging"? Is he referring to detonation that you get in gas motors? As far as I know, the way a diesel (compression ignition) works, there isn't really the probability of that. I may be wrong. Besides, with the noise these things make, how could you hear it? What he may be hearing is just a change in injector noise as the pulse width is changed for the higher tunes.
Okay, loaded my 110 today and gave it a shot. I know what he meant by "pinging" "detonation" sound lol.

Felt great up to about 80% throttle and then at wot it was shaking like a ****, lol. I'm assuming that is the "injector rattle" that i've read about in some of the threads.

So, i guess if i wanna go that hard, i'm gonna need an HPOP at the minimum?

Diablosport Predator. They seem to answer quick on their site, and my tuner whom i bought it from can work the tunes personally as well.

Does your buddy have exhaust and a intake system on the truck? Never felt any rattle with the big tune, but I have talked about putting on the Mustang Dyno next time I am tuning a customers car just to see what it has... I also like the datalogging and live view, helped me find/confirm a few issues a couple times, ICP, etc...

Never thought I'd be putting my 9000lb tow vehicle on the dyno...lol This site has been bad for my health. PMS sets in way too easy....

Are you going to put yours on the dyno?

1211 code is set because to tuner is asking the injectors to stay open too long. extended PW just creates an "oil leak" when the injectors are already empty. A properly written program will NOT set a 1211 code.
Alot of people have purchased HPOPs because their tunes are creating a low HPOP pressures. just get a properly written program. If your buddy can write the program he should be able to adjust the parameters.

Both of our trucks have the napa filter mod, and the mbrp 4" turbo back exhaust. Both are shaking up top.

I'm going to pull the file. My buddys truck doesn't have any lights on the 85 even though I believe the programs are identical.
