Nice! Depends on the theme of the truck before I add any input. But I'm going with a stroked 351W in my '62 Fairlane, and it's going to be covered in pseudo dress like that of the Y block of yore. It'll have the <'62 block lettered FORD valve covers adapted with spacers to clear roller rockers painted in light blue, with the block painted black (old style timing cover and draft tube to boot)
So I say if you're going for a traditional look, consider the older FE valve covers with adapter spacers, or if you're going with a more modern look, I like the Ford oval script valve covers. It's all up to you though, and the nice thing is, they are relatively easy to change.
The reason we haven't installed the valve covers - there has been some internal debate on what to get. They have to be tall covers to fit over the lifters - I was leaning toward some with "Ford" in blue letters, My son wants some black ones with yellow Ford &
the ones we have show chrome flames - more of a darksider look.
Any links to the valve covers you guys recommend?

Do you have a pic of the flamed ones? I just picked up my 351w, it's off a '92, I have a lot of junk to pull off until it looks as clean as yours. It's amazing how little an engine needs to run just fine and how much junk they have on them nowadays.
I have always liked the Edelbrock script covers, my second choice if I don't run stock Ford aluminum goodness. I run real COBRA ones on the Merc and T-Birds on the Y motor. Going to look great.
I picked up a set of the flamed ones for my 351w build. They were cheap at Summit (like $24.99 cheap). I have plenty of other areas to apply money to on the F1 build!
Old Dan,
I like the blue engine - I debated that one & just opted to leave it
whatever color it came as. Your flame valve covers are very similar to
what we've got though our's are just chrome - no color. I know it's stupid but I
was leaning toward Ford Valve covers just so people who aren't too familiar
with engines will know it's not a (Chebbie). Our truck is very modified out of necessity - front end, engine, transmission, rear end are all transplants.
